While wandering the sales floor, a sleazy sales guy tries to sell me everything with two doors and four wheels. I kept telling him that I was just killing time while my car was getting serviced. After about 2 hours of waiting, I head back to the service area to check on the status of my car. The lady working the phone at the service desk pauses her in depth conversation with her significant other long enough to tell me that my car wasn’t there anymore. I ask what she means by “wasn’t there anymore.” She proceeds to explain to me that since I had traded my car in they took the car to get cleaned up and prepped to go on the used car lot. WHAT THE HELL? I’m totally shocked and tell her that in no way, shape, or form did I trade my car in. She tells me that sleazy sales guy told her that I had agreed to buy a nice new ride from him and that I was trading in my sweet Pulsar. She said that I had to work it out with him since he had the paperwork on the deal. What paperwork? So, I head back to the showroom and track down the sleazy sales guy, now engaged with a different customer. He says that since I was spending so much time looking at new cars, he figured I was ready to buy. He was just trying to be helpful and “expedite the sales process and paperwork.” I remind him that I repeatedly stated that I was just killing time and had no interest in buying a car. He goes into full sales mode and tries every trick he can to get me to buy a car. He tries to get me to test drive everything, waves paper in my face saying it’s too late, everything is already filled out, says I verbally agreed to buy a new car and he has witnesses, etc. I just keep asking for my car and my keys over and over again. It becomes my mantra and I get louder and louder the longer this goes on to the point of screaming it. This is in the middle of the sales floor and potential customers are staring at me. In between asking for my keys and car, I threaten to call the police, my attorney, and repeatedly ask for the manager. After a couple of minutes without making any progress, I head back over to the service area since that’s the closest payphone I can find (yes, this was before the prevalence of cell phones). I pick up the handset and dial 911 to report my car stolen. I get the police operator on the phone and start to explain that my car has been stolen. At this point sleazy sales guy runs over with my keys. Somehow he miraculously found my keys cleverly hidden in his desk drawer and informs me that my car is around the back. Then The Top sleaze guy Tim Johns threatened me with legal actions he is the real criminal. I couldn’t get out of that place fast enough. If my car could burn rubber, I would have done so while pulling out of the parking lot. Needless to say, I'll never take my car back to that dealership for service and advised anyone and everyone I could find to stay as far away from that place as is possible.
